The Ars Viva Institute was established in 2009, originating from the Pri Lužarjevih farm. Grandfather Janez Žnidaršič had two sons, Justin and Ivan, and a daughter, Ana. The farm was inherited by Justin’s son, followed by Benjamin Žnidaršič, the founder of the institute.
From the institute, the Youth Hostel Ars Viva emerged, rapidly evolving over the years. Today, the hostel is a popular gathering place for groups and solo travelers. In 2023, it received recognition in the My Country – Beautiful and Hospitable competition for the best hostel in Slovenia.
